Come and learn about the Club’s septic field project and the hopes of the Club to continue to serve the community for years to come.

The Small Point Club Board has respectfully submitted a proposal for consideration to the SPA Board. After formal review, the SPA Board has approved for the Club to share this proposal with the wider Small Point community. Ultimately this proposal will be voted on electronically by SPA Shareholders after the August 3rd Community Meeting.

This proposal outlines a long-term solution to address the increasing vulnerability of the Club’s existing septic field and to ensure the continued operation of an important community asset.

Over the past twenty-six years, the current septic system has served the Club reliably and with relatively few operational issues. However, changing coastal conditions and increasingly severe storm events – most notably the January 2024 storms – have underscored the vulnerability of the existing field and accelerated the need for a more resilient long-term solution. That paired with a limited property footprint has required creative thinking from many Small Pointers and outside perspectives.

After evaluating multiple alternatives over several years, consulting with engineers, contractors, neighboring property owners, and community stakeholders, the Club Board believes that relocating the septic field beneath the SPA parking area adjacent to the Club tennis courts represents the most sustainable and environmentally responsible path forward.

Any final project implementation remains subject to SPA Board & SPA shareholder approval and all required regulatory permits.
