Joanne Thompson has been fascinated by watercolor painting since she was a young adult. Her great grandmother was a watercolor painter, and Joanne grew up surrounded by her paintings. While living in London in the 1990’s, Joanne studied at various art schools with several instructors. Joanne has exhibited her paintings in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts, as well as in several juried shows.

“After painting them for years, I continue to be intrigued with flowers. I find watercolor to be the perfect medium because it allows you to capture the luminescence, softness and texture of the flower.

Joanne lives with her husband in Phippsburg in an historic brick house built in 1774.

This will be Joanne’s first time exhibiting at the Club. Her son, Nicholas Roose, is a member and her cousin Dar and Barbara Gillett are or were also members. Long ago, her grandfather, Charles Fiske, was a member as well.
