A Message from the Small Point Club Board of Directors

A tradition since 1897, the Club is the heart of the community, serving as a gathering spot for members to socialize, dine, entertain guests, and share special occasions together.

For over 125 years, our membership has generously supported the operations, the many special events, celebrations, and nurtured countless memories.

The Small Point Club relies on membership dues and the patronage of our valued members for our financial viability. Through annual dues to the Club, the membership provides a steady cash flow for our off-season expenditures (utilities, taxes, insurance, repairs, etc.) and also supports our beloved, and now very old, historic building. Without membership dues, our operations (food, beverage, rooms, etc.) would not cover our full-year expenditures.

The value of a Small Point Club Membership lies in our ability to continue offering this venue and service to our Small Point Community year after year.

We extend our ongoing thanks to our membership for recognizing their role in this historic endeavor.

Membership Categories

Associate Membership is designed for the next generation of Small Point Club Members, Sustainers, and Supporters. Associate Members maintain all access to and privileges of Full Membership. Associate Members are not permitted to sponsor member applications or serve on the Board of Directors, but they are eligible to sit on Board Committees.

Associate Member Annual Dues ($300) are equal to one-half of the Full Member Dues. If/When an Associate Member ages out or times out of this membership tier, they will pay no initiation fee as long as their annual dues paid are equal to or greater than the current Full Member Initiation Fee.

The Minimum Age to apply for an Associate Membership is 25 years old (Prior to Memorial Day of the upcoming summer season). An Associate Member can maintain their Associate Membership Status until Age 34 or for Five (5) Years, whichever comes first.

Anyone applying for Associate Membership who is not a Child or Grandchild of a Shareholder Member of Full Member, or proposed by a Shareholder Member or Full Member, must go through the full application process, including three (3) Shareholder Sponsor letters. Children or Grandchildren of a Shareholder Member or Full Member are strongly encouraged to become an Associate Member upon turning 25 and can do so by filling out an Associate Member Application and contacting the Board's Membership Chair.

After 2 years in good standing, an Associate Member may become a Full Member by contacting the Board Membership Chair and being approved by the Board.

**Note: Former Junior Members – now Associate members – prior to 2023 are grandfathered in at their original $100 per year dues and $500 initiation fee.

Full Membership is available to all individuals within our community who are at least 25 years of age. Spouses, Partners and Children (Up to Age 25) maintain access to the Small Point Club under the Parents' or Spouses'/Partners' Full Membership.

Unmarried children under age 25 of Full Members shall be entitled to the use of the Club. Upon reaching the age of 25 or upon marriage prior thereto, the child of a Full Member shall no longer be entitled to the privileges of the Club except as a guest or unless duly elected as an Associate or Full Member. Children Age 25+ of current Full Members or Shareholder Members are strongly encouraged to join the Club Membership with their own Associate or Full Membership.

Full Member Annual Dues are currently $600, and the Full Member Initiation Fee is presently $1,000.

Full Members are granted the ability to vote and sit on the Board of Directors and serve on Board Committees.

All Full Membership Applications require a completed application, three (3) non-immediate family member Shareholder Member Sponsor Letters, and Board Approval, unless the candidate is an Associate Member with two (2) years of good standing.

Note: New Full Members may discuss financial arrangements with the Board to pay the initiation fee in installments, subject to a small additional fee.

Shareholder Members may vote at the Annual Shareholder Meeting, sponsor Membership applications and sit on the SPC Board and/or Committees.

Applicants for Shareholder Membership must be a Full Member in good standing for a minimum of two (2) years.

Applicants for Shareholder Member must first contact the Membership Chair and the Custodian of Shareholder Records for approval and recommendation by the SPC Board.

Voting for new Shareholder Members takes place at the SPC Annual Shareholder Meeting in August.

Sustaining Membership is designed for those who can contribute beyond annual dues to help with operating expenses and building maintenance not covered by the Preservation Fund's 501(c)3 guidelines.

Members who donate $400+ qualify for a FREE night at the Club (excluding the first two weeks of August).
